Job Description
We are seeking a talented Trial Attorney to join Kent E. Gorsuch & Associates, part of the Law Department at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. This position is based in Southfield, MI, and offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid role, combining in-office and virtual work arrangements. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of civil litigation experience, including expertise in No-Fault, Automobile Negligence, and Premises Liability, with proven trial experience and strong legal knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload with time-sensitive work.
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, rules of evidence, and trial strategy.
- Handle insurance defense cases efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with a skilled support team in a congenial work environment.
Qualifications
- Law degree from an ABA accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
- Active license to practice law in Michigan and good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
- 3-7 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense.
- Jury trial experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in automation/technology for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentations.
- Experience in a paperless work environment.
