We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Lab Assistant to join our Microbiology team at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative working environment.
• Obtain specimens following laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers regarding patient data and laboratory samples.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Demonstrate competency in following protocols and procedures.
• Organize workload efficiently and support coworkers.
• Follow proper specimen packaging and transport protocols.
• Handle patient registration, lab test ordering, specimen processing, and distribution.
• Practice infection control, patient identification, and specimen transport.
• Perform drug screen collection and processing.
• Engage in self-evaluation for continuous improvement.
• Ensure quality care for patients and promote service excellence.
• Collaborate with various departments within the laboratory and hospital.
• Conduct laboratory tests and assist in preparing equipment.
• Support other laboratory personnel as required.
• Carry out assigned duties effectively.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and strong customer service abilities.
• Preferred: Phlebotomist certification upon hire; Medical Lab Assistant certification within 2 years of hire; Clinical setting experience.
