Litigation In-House Counsel

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Litigation In-House Counsel to join our Corporate Law Department at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. This hybrid role based in Bloomington, Illinois offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of litigation issues and develop legal strategies. As part of our team, you will have the chance to handle discovery problems and supervise litigation processes, ensuring that State Farm entities are well represented.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with outside counsel on litigation strategies for various types of cases.
• Assist in trial preparation and preparation of company witnesses.
• Develop budgets for litigation matters and provide legal advice to the company and its affiliates.
• Analyze legal problems and serve as a resource for complex issues.
• Respond to discovery requests, defend depositions, and review legal pleadings.
• Identify outside counsel and manage legal risks across different jurisdictions.
• Advising on legal matters and attend meet and confer sessions.

Qualifications

• Law Degree from an ABA accredited school and active law license.
• 5+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on class action and bad faith cases.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to provide quality legal advice.
• Experience with eDiscovery issues and commitment to professional development.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
