Job Description
The Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay is seeking a HVAC Maintenance Engineer who is responsible for ensuring the property is maintained at its best with minimal inconvenience to customers and employees. This role involves making repairs to the air conditioning system, performing preventive maintenance on all equipment, plumbing repairs, furniture repair, troubleshooting kitchen equipment, and more. The ideal candidate will hold an HVAC Certification.
Responsibilities
- Make repairs to the hotel's air conditioning system, change filters, and clean coils.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment including boilers, chillers, and electrical systems.
- Test and record readings on equipment, troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Maintain and repair pumps, plumbing systems, and electronic lock systems.
- Paint designated areas, repair sheet rock, wall coverings, and finish as needed.
- Perform necessary maintenance to meet local, state, and federal codes.
- Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas as required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent is required; Trade school or College coursework is helpful.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Flexible schedule and ability to lift heavy objects are required.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.
- Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and comply with hotel standards and regulations.
- Ability to handle problems effectively and maintain confidentiality.
- Must have TB Clearance and HVAC Certification.
- Hourly rate: $28.60 - $30.32
