Job Description

We are looking for a Full-Time Assistant Store Manager to join the team at Aldi. In this role, you will assist in supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and implementing operational action plans. The ideal candidate will identify training opportunities to foster team development and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement action plans to enhance store operating results.
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to the team.
  • Identify training opportunities to improve team performance.
  • Understand and communicate company strategy and values to create a cohesive team environment.
  • Monitor the competitive environment and suggest adjustments to maintain competitiveness.
  • Conduct product feedback and make recommendations for product selection.
  • Participate in the store personnel interviewing process.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies.
  • Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of direct leadership.
  • Maintain store standards including cleanliness, signage, and stock levels.
  • Merchandise products to maximize sales and ensure product quality and freshness.
  • Assist in achieving store payroll and budget targets, conducting inventory counts, and training new employees.
  • Supervise day-to-day team operations, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of responsibilities to provide excellent customer service.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures while ensuring document security and confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Stock merchandise and place products on shelves.
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk around the store.
  • Operate equipment and perform general cleaning duties.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Capacity to train and lead team members.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying company policies.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Operational and budget management skills.
  • Proficient in cash register operations.
  • Meets state requirements for selling alcoholic beverages.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years retail experience.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
