Engineer 1

Job Description

The Engineer 1 at Sheraton San Jose is responsible for maintaining the property in optimal condition with minimal inconvenience to customers and staff. The role involves a wide range of tasks including repairs, maintenance, and adherence to local, state, and federal codes.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to the hotel air conditioning system.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as boilers, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Test and record readings on various equipment.
• Replace and program televisions, light switches, bulbs, and fixtures.
• Perform furniture, plumbing, pump, and kitchen equipment repairs.
• Understand and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
• Perform painting, sheet rock finishing, and wall covering repairs.
• Repair and program the hotel's electronic lock system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school or college coursework beneficial.
• Flexible schedule and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Compliance with hotel standards and regulations.
• Strong initiative and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to cross-train in various hotel areas.

Salary

$24/hour
