Job Description
The Residence Inn Scranton is looking for a Chief Engineer to oversee the day-to-day operations of the engineering division. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the property, equipment, and grounds in a safe and acceptable state of repair, ensuring compliance with all laws, and supervising/training the Engineering staff. Additionally, you will create and manage department budgets, implement preventative maintenance programs, and actively participate in energy conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of facilities management experience in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans to maintain property, equipment, and grounds.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Supervise and train Engineering staff in various areas including Customer Service, Empowerment, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Create and manage all Engineering staff schedules.
- Adhere to annual departmental budgets.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs for equipment.
- Participate in energy conservation programs.
- Review and address guest and meeting planner feedback promptly.
- Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Assist with vendor contract administration and room maintenance requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of facilities management experience in hospitality or related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Stationary Engineer's license if required.
- Skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 100 pounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
