Job Description
St. Martin Growth, a leading real estate investment and hospitality management company, is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all administrative, financial, and operational aspects related to the engineering division of the hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and profitable operation of the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train all engineering staff in customer service, standard operating procedures, and loss prevention standards.
- Develop and adhere to the annual budget for the engineering department.
- Create and implement plans for the maintenance of property, equipment, and grounds.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Implement a preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment.
- Handle room maintenance requests promptly and courteously.
- Participate in energy conservation programs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Review guest feedback and address issues in a timely manner.
- Administer vendor contracts and participate in hotel safety committees.
Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field, or a relevant college degree with management experience.
- Stationary Engineer's license if required; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance skills.
General Requirements
- Effective communication skills and fluency in English and French.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and maintain confidentiality.
- High standards of personal appearance, attendance, and adherence to hotel standards.
