Job Description
We are looking for a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor to join our team at Cedar House Life Change Center, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality Substance Use Treatment. As a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, you will work under the supervision of the Program Director to deliver residential program services, provide group and individual recovery services, engage in community outreach and education, and maintain necessary documentation for program efficiency and client care.
Responsibilities
- Carry a caseload and provide group and individual recovery services.
- Participate in community outreach work, education, and prevention presentations.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for residential program and client purposes.
- Collaborate with the Residential Coordinator on residential program status.
- Ensure compliance with house rules and regulations to safeguard residents and visitors' welfare.
- Participate in court appearances with clients as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of a drug studies certificate program.
- Certification under CAADE, CCAPP, or CADTP.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a residential setting.
- Understanding of alcohol/drug addiction and recovery principles.
- If in recovery, a minimum of 2 years of continuous sobriety.
- Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual capabilities preferred.
